People should not underestimate the capabilities of generation Y because they are extremely creative and also very progressive. They adapt to changes very fast and can take on new situations very easily. In fact, they love challenges and changes at the same time. They also have enterprising capabilities that can help them progress towards their goals faster. |
All these are much desired qualities for the corporate because they are looking more towards innovation and newer principles. However, generation Y is not patient and cannot be called a very tolerant clan. They can use anger and violence to get their things done if they want. They think violence is justified when they are not justified
At work place, the generation Y can behave much differently and often might be found questioning rules. They have a logical approach and unless the find it acceptable they may not agree with it. With the current scenario of diversity in work place with different generation’s right from the baby boomers to the generation Y, it has been possible to observe the characteristics and behavioral traits. Generation Y thinks of only using the modern gadgets like cell phones and computers. They tend to use these gadgets more often for everything like expressing their creativity and coming up with new ideas. They are also largely dependant on internet. There are positive and negative attributes of such traits.
It has also been found that generation Y uses very little paper and pen. This could be a positive and negative at the same time when it comes to work.
