However, contradictory to the things that people think, the Bible has no mention of cremation whatsoever. But, there are incidents of cremation that you do find in the Bible, and they are not as common. Also, it has been mentioned that Jews did believe in cremation at an early point of time. However, in the modern day and age the traditional Jews are prohibited by their religion from cremating the death. In addition, some of the other types of religions, like the Eastern Orthodox and Fundamental Christians, do not still allow cremation. Some other faiths like Islam also do not allow cremation.
Cremation means burning the dead body of the person and burial means putting a person inside a casket and burying them under soil. Also, in the process of cremation the remains after the body burns are kept in a wooden box and then placed into the crematorium. After the whole process the whole human body is reduced to ashes. The bone fragments are also further completely powdered. Some people have willingly named in their will that their body should be cremated and their ashes be sprinkled all over their property. This is one of the common wish for the rich and famous. So, not all people necessarily follow cremation because it is religious.
